Capital wins PR for Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay at Commonwealth Games.

23 October 2001 London Public Relations firm Capital Integrated Marketing Communications (Europe) Ltd, (trading as Capital PR), has been awarded a major mandate to handle public relations activities in relation to The Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay, which will travel around the UK for 50 days heralding the Manchester 2002 Commonwealth Games.

The account was awarded after a four-way pitch in August. Capital's team will be headed up by Capital PR Director, Jackie Brock-Doyle, former Paragon Communications Director and ex-head of communications for Kingfisher plc.

“The experience Capital PR gained handling the public relations for the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, including media relations and issues management of the highly acclaimed Sydney 2000 Torch Relay, has provided us with a global best practice skill in handling public relations for some of the largest international events that is hard to beat,” said Ms Brock-Doyle.



Appointed by Cadbury to maximise its sponsorship of the Commonwealth Games and The Queen's Jubilee Baton Relay. An exciting programme of national and local media activities are planned all over the country between now and August.
