1. Virgin Mobile Launch Stunt

With only one month's lead time, Capital undertook the challenge to deliver a stunt to launch Virgin Mobile in Australia using the message 'freedom'. Sir Richard Branson dressed in a Virgin Mobile branded, red commando jump-suit, entered Darling Harbour suspended 100ft beneath a twin-jet helicopter to free trapped mobile phone users from a barge.

Using a branded detonator, Sir Richard Branson exploded the cage and set free over 50 performers to swim to shore with Virgin Mobile life vests and branded life rings.


Sir Richard Branson completed several laps of the Harbour on a jet-ski with a Virgin Mobile flag before greeting media and crowds on the wharf. The stunt was covered by every major television station that night supported by a video news release produced by Capital New Media. The stunt resulted in over $100m in publicity being generated in both Australia and overseas.

2. Coca-Cola Redfest National Media Launch

Capital worked with Coca-Cola to develop and implement a media launch concept to announce its single biggest consumer promotion to be undertaken in Australia in 2000.


In order to educate the local media on 'What is Redfest?', the Capital team coordinated a rolling roadshow that was designed to represent a microcosm of the Redfest events taking place in each capital city. The result was a hi-energy, interactive experience choreographed for local media who were extremely enthusiastic about the program of activities.
